“Verdict” tells the story of the Hendryks, refugees in England, who have lost everything. Karl (Aaron Boger), a college professor, with his talents, charm, and hard work rebuilds their lives. But Anya (Dana Bunker), his wife, is fatally ill and so her old friend, Lisa (Taylor Strait), who secretly loves Karl, lives with them and runs the house. The three are very close. Their serenity is shattered when wealthy, brainless but headstrong Helen Rollander (Samantha Hall) bribes her way into taking private lessons from Karl. When her infatuation for him is unreturned, she doesn’t stop at murder to clear the way. But after Anya’s death, Helen realizes her schemes were futile and commits suicide. So Anya’s death is pinned on Lisa, backed by evidence from a scandal-mongering cleaning lady (Kathryn Hockman). Additional cast members include Greg Miller (Dr. Stoner), Sam Greives (Lester Cole), Cami Sharratt (Inspector Ogden), Jacob Schoenhofen (Sgt. Pearce) and Paul Nasvik (Sir William Rollander).
