Keynote: From Mad2Glad: Healing the Silent Family Struggle

Do you feel self-doubt in parenting a child who has anxiety, anger, or acting-out behaviors? Children who are defiant, controlling and quick to escalate tend to have a highly reactive “fight or flight” stress response. Parents find themselves walking on eggshells to avoid emotional outbursts and experience strained relationships with their child, their partner, and their personal health. Reinforcements have arrived! This keynote will help you understand what’s going on in your child’s brain and nervous system that are causing their challenging behaviors, and equip you with a new parenting style to bring more peace and enjoyment to everyone in your household. Presented by Samantha Moe, MA, SLP

After completing her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Minnesota, Samantha set out to uncover the gifts of children with Autism. Combining a strong background in direct service to families with interdisciplinary training in sensory integration, play therapy, and emotional integration, Samantha now coaches parents of all types of children to help them calm, connect, and cooperate. Samantha speaks at organizations and conferences for parents, educators and family service professionals including the Warren Center, Minnesota Organization of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Minnesota Council on Gifted and Talented, Autism Society of Minnesota, and Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health.
