Welcome to Edgewood School! I am proud to serve families in the Prior-Lake Savage community as the Administrator of PLSAS Early Learning Programs. Edgewood School serves as a one-stop-shop early learning center. Here you will find Early Childhood Screening, Early Childhood & Family Education classes, Circle of Friends Preschool classes and Early Childhood Special Education Services.
At Edgewood School, we believe social-emotional development is essential to school readiness. Through the Pyramid Model Innovation, which is a precursor to the Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support (PBIS) program practiced in our elementary and secondary schools, we support the development of these skills through positive relationships, a focus on what TO do (instead of what NOT to do), consistent expectations and self-regulation strategies.
We also strongly believe that a child’s family is their first and most important teacher. We value a whole-family approach to learning and have an amazing, supportive Early Learning Advisory Council made up of program parents and caregivers.
I have been with Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools since 2015 as the Early Learning Administrator. Previously I served in ISD 191 as a Preschool and ECFE teacher and then as the Dual Language Coordinator. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Spanish from the College of Saint Benedict— go Bennies & Johnnies! I have a Master’s degree in Teaching with a focus on Early Childhood Education, a teacher’s license and I completed the PreK-12 Administrator Licensure program with the University of Minnesota to earn my principal’s license. My husband and I live in Prior Lake and you can often find us out on the lake with our daughter and son or out walking with our two pups.
I hope you find what your family is looking for at Edgewood School. Please reach out with any questions, I am always happy to help!
