Welcome to Glendale Elementary. I am honored to be a part of a community of learners who develop skills by fostering creativity, success and a love of learning for all students. Glendale is a place where students can celebrate their uniqueness and maximize their potential.
For the past three years, I was a principal in the Faribault Public School District. Previous to Faribault, I spent 15 years as a classroom teacher in Farmington. I was a second, third and fourth grade teacher as well as a middle school gifted and talented teacher. I had the opportunity and privilege to hold various teacher leadership positions throughout my years in Farmington. Before Farmington, I was an ECFE and preschool teacher with the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools for 5 1/2 years. I spent my first five years in education with the private school sector. I am beginning my 29th year in education and have enjoyed every aspect of my journey as an educator.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, as well as a Sixth Year Certification in School Administration, from Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis. This spring I completed the Minnesota Principal Academy with the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children and two dogs. I also enjoy reading, exercising, sports and visiting with my friends and family.
I look forward to working in partnership with the staff, students, families and community to ensure that our students have high quality educational experiences and access to a variety of resources that will foster their personal, social and academic growth.
