Our mission is to educate all learners to reach their full potential as contributing and productive members of our ever-changing global community.

My name is Patrick Glynn and I am the principal at Grainwood Elementary. With numerous years as a principal in Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools and outstate Minnesota, I began my teaching career in Belize, Central America. I then taught elementary school in the Faribault and Minneapolis Public Schools for eight years, accepted a principal internship in Minneapolis, and later became a principal in the Waseca Public Schools. I am very grateful to have had international, rural, urban and suburban experiences as an educator. I love the principalship and the challenge of meeting the needs of staff, students and families.

One of my focuses has been to create the healthiest of school environments. As a PBIS District, school-wide expectations are well known and enforced by staff and students. Our identity includes: Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy and Self-Control and are a part of everything we do. From our healthy snack program, to Responsive Classroom practices in the classrooms, to acknowledging and recognizing positive choices and good behavior at all-school meetings, Grainwood CARES!

Besides being a principal, I am the loving husband to Shannon and the caring father to three energetic boys. Dad is an assistant basketball and baseball coach at many different levels. I also help out with Cub Scouts and am a supporter of music and the arts. I love the outdoors and have had many experiences backpacking and camping. I am an occasional runner and also a Twins and Gophers fan extraordinaire!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Grainwood! We look forward to another great school year!
